Biography

Dr. Weiss was the first Senior Fellow at the Knowledge Media Design Institute. He was on the faculty of the Curriculum, Teaching and Learning Department at the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education (OISE/UT). His recent interests include how time structures our lives, and learning for sustainable development. Dr. Weiss edited "The International Handbook of Virtual Learning Environments" (Springer), and was the Founding Editor of "Curriculum Inquiry" (Blackwell). Contributions include chapters in "Building Virtual Communities: Learning and Change in Cyberspace" (Cambridge) and the American Educational Research Association’s "Second Handbook of Research on Teaching", and its’ "Review of Research in Education." "Telling Tales Over Time" is underway for Sense publishers. Dr. Weiss's interest in sustainable development commenced with work on a United Nations University project to commemorate the UN Decade of Education for Sustainable Development.
