Enrolling in KMD Courses

KMD Collaborative Program courses are open to all graduate students from all departments and faculties at the University of Toronto. Students need not be members of the Collaborative Program to enroll. Be aware, however, that KMD CP courses are subject to the usual space constraints and Collaborative Program students will be given priority. All KMD courses are interdepartmental; they are electives offered by a unit other than your home unit. Those students who are not in the Collaborative Program must have the approval of both the Collaborative Program and their home unit in order to complete the registration.

COURSE ENROLLMENT PROCEDURES FOR KMD COLLAORATIVE PROGRAM COURSES
*NEW*

If you would like to enrol in KMD Collaborative Program courses for Fall 2008 or Winter/Spring 2009, please read the following.

If you are a KMD Collaborative Program student:

1. Please enrol in KMD CP courses on the student web service (ROSI). You should see “APP” after you enrol.
2. If you encounter problems, check with your home unit to make sure you are enrolled in the KMD CP.

If you are not a KMD Collaborative Program student:

1. Please consult with your home unit about whether to complete an Enrollment Form [PDF] or a Course Add/Drop Form (Section 'A' to “add” a course) [PDF]. Many departments require that students complete a Program Change form in order to register for a course outside their home unit. The form does not signify that you are changing your degree or your program of study. It simply records any courses you take outside your home unit. The form needs to be signed by both the home unit (your department) and the host unit (KMD CP). Copies of the form you should use will be available at your unit and on the SGS website.
2. Have your home unit sign your form.
3. Bring your signed and approved form to the KMD Collaborative Program office, Bahen building, Rm. 7222. If the Program Coordinator is not in, you can leave your form in an envelope on the office door.

Directions to the KMD Collaborative Program office: Take the south elevators opposite the MegaBites/Starbucks at the College Street entrance. When you come off the elevator 7th floor, turn right, and then left before the spiral staircase and you will see a sign to the office.

Students should obtain approval signatures from the instructor/Collaborative Program and home unit as soon as possible. Students will not be guaranteed a place until the registration process is complete, and their names may be removed from the system by their home units if approval has not been obtained.

To complete the enrolling process

Follow the instructions to ADD A COURSE:
The Course/Activity Title is the name of the course (e.g., "KMD: Fundamental Concepts")
The Activity Code is the course code and course number (e.g., "KMD1001H")
The Section Code indicates the term in which the course is offered (e.g., "F")
Teaching Method in KMD CP courses is always "LEC"
Meeting Section Number is always "0101"

If you have any difficulties, contact your home department or the KMD Collaborative Program at program@kmdi.utoronto.ca
